Enabling individuals to remain in their homes and communities, while assisting their families in maintaining their lifestyles, is what Project Independence is all about.
Located at 250 Elm St., our adult day health center provides daily medical and social activities to prevent and postpone nursing home placement. Founded in 1982, we serve seniors or disabled people over 18, who live in Greater New Bedford area.
Our center is Medicaid approved, handicap accessible and licensed to accommodate over 55 clients. We also provide intergenerational programs, lunch and shopping outings all accompanied with lots of fun and love.


Our Staff ... Executive Director Karen A. Maciulewicz
which has Portuguese and Spanish speaking employees, includes nurses, social workers, dietary service, activity director and program assistants, among others
We are people oriented and treat everyone with respect and dignity while encouraging and enhancing independence.
